Mentor and Mentee Success – Jonathan & James’s Story

I'm delighted to introduce a developing partnership between 2 of our most enthusiastic Ambassadors, Jonathan Dempsey and James MacPherson.

As well as being avid supporters of our cause they have teamed up with Jonathan as Mentor and James as Mentee.

Here is their story and hopefully encouragement for more of you to apply for either as a mentor or mentee in our programme. Click here to the Mentoring pages of the website.

Mentor – Jonathan Dempsey

Prior to launching Red Laces consultancy www.redlaces.co.uk in early 2020, Jonathan's early career as an Environmental Health Officer enabled him to mentor businesses in food hygiene, health and safety and environmental management. This was followed by several senior level, multidisciplinary roles with FTSE100, FTSE250 and other market leaders which has included safeguarding children, delivering renewable energy projects, wildlife management, controlling unsealed radioisotopes in laboratories, emergency planning and business continuity.

Mentee – James MacPherson

James started his EHS career in 2003 working for a renowned packaging manufacturing organisation. He has subsequently moved from company to company excelling in his seniority from EHS Assistant level to his current position as Health and Safety Manager. James is widely recognised throughout the community for an innovative health, safety and wellbeing podcast that he hosts called ‘Rebranding Safety’. Following on from the success of his podcasts, he has had many influential leaders in the Safety community star on his podcasts including Jason Anker, Louise Taggart, Rachel Butler and Andrew Sharman to name a few.

The pair share an excellent mentor / mentee relationship through shared visions, aspirations and a desire to change the perception of Safety. Jonathan has been able to provide his assistance, opinions and a helping hand when James has needed one and has significantly helped James in achieving his personal milestones.
