Who are Shooting Star Chase?
Shooting Star Chase is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.
The charity supports over 700 children, and their families, throughout Surrey and across 15 boroughs of London, 365 days a year.
From babies to young people up to the age of 21, they support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care. The care is for the whole family, offering a bespoke service to suit each member’s individual needs.
It costs £10 million a year just to maintain their current level of care. Around 10% of that income comes from government funding, so they rely on supporters’ generosity to keep the service running. What’s more, there are many more families desperate for our vital support meaning its crucial they raise more funds to provide more care.
Any donation big or small goes on to help families who are facing the unimaginable.
£10 could go towards creating memory boxes for families to treasure.
£20 could give a child time in the sensory room. These rooms can help relax and sooth and provide a stimulating environment supporting non-verbal communications.
£50 could pay for a music therapy session, giving children the opportunity to communicate in new and profound ways.
£100 could pay for an essential two hour long Hospice at Home visit to support families when they need them the most.
Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, they are here to make every moment count.
