Leadership

Richard Orton

Director of Strategy at IOSH

I am a Director and member of the Senior Leadership Team at IOSH, the only Chartered body representing the occupational safety and health profession globally with 47,000 members in 130 countries. IOSH is globally recognised as a research-driven thought leader and an enabler of organisational delivery, directly supporting 180,000 working people annually in 80 countries to deliver their goals more safely and healthily.

I lead IOSHs activities with policy makers, regulators and the investment and business communities globally, helping to shape sustainable strategies and cultures that have the safety, health and wellbeing of people and society at their core.

I’m also a Board member of the Center for Safety and Health Sustainability (CSHS), an influential global thought leader that reinforces the role of people and society within the sustainability agenda, and a Director of the UK Occupational Safety & Health Consultants Register (OSHCR), an initiative sponsored by the UK Health & Safety Executive designed to offer organisations a trusted source of pragmatic and proportionate advice.

IOSH is delighted to support Safety4Good. It is great initiative that recognises the selfless nature of Occupational Safety and Health professionals and importantly, captures the many great examples of where they have used their expertise to support and enable worthy causes that have benefited people and society. We want to help the public to see the good that the profession achieves and Safety4Good has a key role to play in that.
