Why a Future Leaders programme?
Following trial and error of previous mentoring sessions along with feedback from the industry, we believe whilst traditional mentoring can be successful, a fresh innovative approach can add more value to all parties involved. Utilising video interview technology, group sessions and focusing on Future Leaders, we are aiming to facilitate the growth of the individuals who will be leading the sector for years to come.
Aim
Overall our aim for the programme is to deliver the following outcomes:
- H&S career development
- High potential talent development, uncovering unknown or “blind spot” skills
- Leadership skills development
- Reverse mentoring and learning for Executive Coaches
- Cross sector exposure
- Creating like minded peer groups, to support for the long term
All of the above contribute to developing the calibre of future leaders within health & safety, improving the functions visibility and ultimately ensuring it is a career of choice for the next generation.
We believe the sessions should provide support, a sounding board, knowledge, encouragement, guidance, and constructive feedback to the Future Leader by developing a genuine interest in the growth of their abilities and talents. Networking amongst the group should also be encouraged as peer learning and discussion can be just as powerful.
